Since there are many judicial proceedings, it became to known that many industries were aware of the effects of asbestos but they failed to inform the workers.

Unfortunately, many reports have shown that almost all the business owners who utilized the asbestos in their industries knew that the material is mortal, but they have never communicated with the employees about this issue. They continued the usage of asbestos without any restrictions. In the early centuries even before 3000 B.C, there are many evident for the usage of this material. Though it is used only for construction industrial applications in the beginning, later it has its application over many chemical and oil refineries.

A report says that more than ten thousand workers have been exposed to asbestos per day in those periods. By the end of 19th century only they came to know about the reason for the disease they had. As the 20th century progressed, the usage of asbestos has increased by 30% in many fields. Consequently, many cases were filed against the companies which employed asbestos for commercial use. Then the government has banned the material from use. Also more than 40 countries have been banned the asbestos, spotting out the deadliness.

Unprotected mining was the major reason for the cause of mesothelioma in 1900s. The history of mesothelioma has started when the waste materials from the mining operation which contained asbestos were used to provide covering sheets for schools and play grounds. It was actually many people who dint even had little knowledge about this disease have come to contact with this toxic illness. It was not safe for the people who lived near the factories and industries which used the asbestos material. Actually the mining operations were stopped recognizing the people health.

 

It was strange that why the people were allowed to work in the mines without any safety measures. Also, the industrial owners have not taken a single step forward to force the ban of asbestos even they ken the fact. This became the main reason for many new arrivals of mesothelima cases in the court now-a-days. Now the cases expand to those who dint even work in the mines, but the cause for the disease is due to the secondary means.

The word ‘ASBESTOS’ is a Greek work which means perdurable. The name has given to that material because of its excellent heat resistant property. If we hint out the history of asbestos, it shows that the people have used the material often in the past. Asbestos has been used by many civilizations in the past. Romans, Egyptians and many civilizations were employed the asbestos in making funeral dresses for Emperors. In the ancient history, there were many names for asbestos like mountain leather, rock floss, etc., In the middle ages, the asbestos materials were used to make table cloths in palaces to appeal the visitors.

 

The true power of asbestos has come out only in the 1800s. During the industrial revolution, asbestos found many applications in almost all the fields. The usage of the material has continued till the World War II. In the end of 19th century and the beginning of 20th century, many people were affected by the mesothelioma cancer whose major cause is asbestos. Later on, the medical practitioners proved the fact.

The first case of mesothelioma was found in an Australian in 1870, who worked in the mines for more than two years. Then in South Africa, a pathologist submitted report evidenced around 30 cases of mesothelioma was found in people of age between 30 to 55. They all were the workers in the mines of South Africa. Also the report showed that mesothelioma was found in many people who did not have any occupational exposure, still they lived close to those mining industries. Later on, the effects of mesothelioma were proved from many parts of the world. Slowly, people started to show knowledge about the trouble given by the asbestos exposure.

Also the government has proposed a rule to cast out the asbestos. People who were exposed to asbestos in the early period and the relatives of the victim become eligible to claim recompense from the respective companies and industries. Also some industrial owners have started to build health care centers to help the mesothelioma affected persons with many facilities at free of cost.
